Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city

The year-round buzz of Scotland’s capital city sits in perfect contrast to the peaceful tranquility of East Lothian.

The Georgian architecture of Edinburgh brought in a refined elegance that still remains today as the very symbol of a time of growing confidence, often called the ‘Age of Enlightenment’.

Edinburgh has one of the most memorable and beautiful cityscapes in the world, making it the ideal destination.

With Scotland’s most famous castle dominating the city skyline, there is plenty to see and do with the perfect balance between all things traditional and contemporary.

Discover world-class museums and galleries, take a tour on an open-top bus or even visit the city’s own zoo.

From the world famous Festivals to top-class restaurants and bars, not to mention fabulous shopping, you’ll be spoilt for choice. And it’s just a 30 minutes car journey from The Lodges at… Aberlady.

Steeped in centuries of Scottish history and tradition

East Lothian is arguably the most desirable residential area in Scotland with easy access to Scotland’s capital city and financial capital; Edinburgh.

Bass Rock off North Berwick

Steeped in centuries of Scottish history and tradition, East Lothian is blessed with heather-clad hills and unspoilt beaches, grand estates and ruined cliff-top castles.

As you would expect from an unspoilt region such as East Lothian planning is strictly controlled and demand for plots and homes in this region far outweighs supply.

It is also home to some of the world’s finest golf courses. East Lothian is one of Scotland’s premier regions for golf; 22 courses catering for golfers of all standards and tastes.

Some courses you will recognise – Dunbar, North Berwick, Musselburgh, Gullane and The Open Championship course at Muirfield.
